Principal's Message

Dear Swift-Slaybaugh Families,

This week we had the opportunity to celebrate Staff Appreciation Week. We are so fortunate to have such an amazing staff here at the Swift-Slaybaugh Complex. I see for myself every day the hard work and care that the staff puts into their jobs that they take so seriously. I saw so many notes of appreciation, drawings, cards, etc. come in from families. The students were so excited to thank the grown ups they love at school. It's always special to see. For all of the mothers in our school community, I wish you a very happy Mother's Day! It's one of the hardest jobs in the world and I respect you immensely. Enjoy your day!

Sincerely,
Rachel Casumpang
Principal

All Aboard the STEM Bus!

On Wednesday, the STEM Bus, along with students from the high school, came to visit our kindergarten classes. The students had the opportunity to learn from the older students and engage in several hands on STEM activities. They loved it!

Happy National School Nurse Day!

Although our two wonderful nurses, Mrs. Nell and Ms. Rogers, deserve recognition for their hard work every day, Wednesday was Nation School Nurse Day. We are very grateful for both of them and the attention and care that they put into their important positions every day.

Stakeholder Partnerships

Cole the Deaf Dog

On Friday, Cole the Deaf Dog came to do an assembly for our first grade classes. Cole the Deaf Dog is a nationally recognized therapy dog, advocate, and author, born deaf. He works to promote disability awareness and acceptance. Cole was adopted in 2017 by Chris Hannah, a music teacher in South Jersey. Cole acts as a school therapy dog, proving that a disability is not an inability. Cole teaches the world to "hear with their hearts." At the bottom, you can see a video of Cole on ABC News with a really cool story!

Happy Staff Appreciation Week!

This week our district celebrated Staff Appreciation Week with luncheons from our wonderful Parent's Club on Tuesday and Wednesday, and an ice cream truck from Mrs. Casumpang and Mrs. Day on Friday. The Swift-Slaybaugh staff is one of the best around and we are grateful for them this week and every week. Thank you so much for all that you do and the difference that you make.
