Principal's Message

Dear Swift-Slaybaugh Families,

This week our students enjoyed their spring parties on Wednesday. Many classes did egg hunts and other activities outside, as we lucked out with the perfect weather! We also recognized Paraprofessional Appreciation Day. We are very lucky here at the Swift-Slaybaugh Complex to have so many excellent paraprofessionals. They play such a vital role in our school community and we are extremely grateful for them and their hard work.

Our Bubbles for Autism event has been postponed until Monday, April 13th, due to the rain and wind on our originally scheduled date of Friday. Please feel free to send your student in wearing autism acceptance gear or the color blue the day we get back.

I wish you and your families a peaceful, restful, and fun spring break. We will see everyone back on Monday, the 13th, for a strong last 2.5 months!

Sincerely,
Rachel Casumpang
Principal

Student Achievment

Our Wildest Readers!

As we wrap up another month of reading, let's celebrate our WILDEST READERS for the months of January and February. In January, Ivaan Singh was our 2nd grade top reader and our 3rd grade leader was Emma Rincon. The class in 3rd grade that read the most that month was Ms. Bates' class. There was a 3-way tie for 2nd grade with Mrs. Huba, Mrs. Guerra, and Mrs. Zaccagnino all spending lots of time in class reading.  Congratulations.
February classes that were reading leaders were Mrs. Zaccagnino's 2nd grade and Mrs. Bralski's 3rd grade. Way to go! Our top WILD READERS were some familiar faces, Maliha Khan in 2nd grade and John Peacock in 3rd grade.  Congratulations to all our students for reaching their reading at home goals each month!

Special Delivery!

"Mrs. Bernardino's, Mrs. Taroncher's, and Mrs. Tsoplakis's students worked hard to sort and deliver the bubbles for our Bubbles for Autism event to each classroom. Mrs. Bernardino's students sorted out the bubbles and Mrs. Tsoplakis's/Mrs. Taroncher's delivered them to the classrooms."
